Farmhouse Blues Quilt-Along: Part 3 Is Here!

Farmhouse Blues Quilt-Along: Part 3 Is Here!

🧵 Farmhouse Blues Quilt-Along: Part 3 Is Here!

This is the moment your quilt starts looking like… a quilt. 💙

Part 3 of the Farmhouse Blues Quilt-Along is where it all comes together: your beautiful framed blocks finally become rows, and your rows become a quilt top.

Whether you’re sewing along in real time or catching up later, this is a big milestone—and you should be proud of how far you’ve come. ✨

📺 Watch Part 3:
Farmhouse Blues Quilt-Along | Part 3 – Layout & Rows

In this step, we’ll:
✅ Arrange our 20 framed blocks in 4 rows of 5
✅ Sew blocks into rows and join rows into a quilt top
✅ (Optional) Add a 6½" border to make it 72" × 87"

💡 Pro Tip: Step back and squint at your layout. Look for balance between lights and darks, then take a quick photo—sometimes a picture shows you what your eyes miss!

🌼 Make Your Life Easy (and Gorgeous!)

To help you finish strong, I’ve added:

  • Brand-new fat quarter bundles

  • A few 2-yard duos (perfect for borders, backings, or bindings!)

These curated fabrics will catapult your progress and spark fresh color ideas—whether you’re finishing your Farmhouse Blues quilt or planning your next one.

🧵 Catch Up on Parts 1 and 2

If you’re just joining us, don’t worry—here’s where we started:

🌼 Part 1: Four-Patch Blocks

We began this journey by sewing twenty colorful four-patch blocks, the heart of this quilt’s design.

💡 Tip: Chain-piecing makes these fly by, and they’re a perfect place to play with color.

🌼 Part 2: Framing the Blocks

Next, we framed each block with background strips to make the colors pop and give the design a crisp, clean look.

💡 Tip: Sew with the pieced side facing up to keep seams flat and happy.
