February's Quilting your Legacy Monthly Challenge is U.F.O. Projects.
First, you may be wondering, what in the world is a U.F.O. project?
U.F.O. Stands for Un-Finished Objects, objects meaning projects.
A U.F.O project is any unfinished sewing project.
It's a project that you've started but ran out of time or didn't like one of your fabric color choices.
Perhaps you need to rip out a seam or two because of a sewing error but don't have the energy to go back and fix it, or maybe you got excited about a different project and got bored with the U.F.O Project in question, but there are also many more reasons.
The types of projects are not limited to;
- Quilts
- Table toppers
- Hand stitching projects.
If a sewing project doesn't spark me joy, I'm less likely to complete it.
If I get frustrated or a new sewing project looks more enticing then, I typically place it down on my sewing room bookshelf and move onto the next project with high expectations to go back to it, but I don't stress if I don't.
Do you do the same?
Well! Not this month, February's sewing challenge is to pick back up our previously started projects and complete them.
I challenge you to go through your Un-Finished Object Projects, take a photo of them, and write a short description of what is needed to complete the project. Plus, for extra credit, who will you gift it to or where in your home are you going to place it?
Here's the deal, sometimes a project doesn't work out. Try not to feel guilty about abandoning it. If it helps, donate the fabric or turn it into something else. Or swap or give it away to someone.
Then ask yourself what you learned from it and move on. We don't have time to wallow in guilt.
However, for February's Quilting your Legacy Challenge, we're challenging you to go back through your previously started sewn projects and ask yourself the below questions to get the project completed before the end of the month.
Here's the Challenge:
- Find a U.F.O. Project
- What is needed to complete the project?
- Where will you get the materials, or when will you find the time to complete the project?
- Who will you gift the project to after completion, or where will you place it in your home?
- Please take a photo and add it to the Facebook Group. Then declare what, where, and who statement for the project.

- First, if you haven't already, request to be in the Facebook Group by searching within Facebook, "Quilting your Legacy Monthly Challenge."
- After the month's challenge has been announced, everyone will have until the 10th of the month to publicly state they've accepted the challenge.
- On the Facebook Group page, everyone must show a photo of the fabrics, patterns or describe their tentative ideas on Facebook Group.
- The winner will be announced in the first few days within the new month and follow the month's latest challenge.
Prizes: All participants will automatically enter into a drawing based on their entries using hashtag #QuiltingyourLegacy and posting on the Facebook Group.
You may enter up to three projects to raise your odds.
Rules: No size requirements. Everyone must complete the project within the time frame.
* No purchase is necessary at Norton House Quilting.
* You can start or stop at any point.
* You must complete the theme guidelines 100% of the month's challenge to enter the drawing.
The goal is to have fun.
Try new sewing techniques or things you've always wanted to do but haven't yet.
There are no "quilting police."
Let your creativity shine through your projects.

WHAT TO DO NEXT
Step 1) Go to Facebook and type on the group page that you're "in" and accept January's Monthly Challenge of using Fabric Panels.
Step 2) Post photos of your sewing thoughts.
Step 3) As you complete the monthly theme, post them onto Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag, #QuiltingyourLegacy, @NortonHouseQuilting
Step 4) Post a photo of your completed project into the Facebook Group by the last day of the month.
After you post the photo into the Facebook Group, you will be automatically entered into the $30. Gift Certificate drawing.
The winner will be announced publicly, and when you win, you will notify you via an email message from either Facebook or Instagram from Norton House Quilting.
