🧵*NEW* Quilting Patterns from Villa Rosa Designs for September, 2022

🗣The new Villa Rosa Patterns arrived! 🙋‍♀️Let’s talk about them!

🌟There are 6 new patterns - 5 quilts and 1 table topper

If you love panels, quilts that use many fabrics, and watermelon then this is your month!

Also, between us I have some fabric in mind for all the patterns so if you don’t have fabric in mind fear not - I’ve got your back because matching fabrics is one of my super patterns. Or the super power is growing up a quilt shop since cloth diapers… hmm…

👩‍🦰 My name is Emily, and if you're a quilter, you belong here!

🪡Together we're going to create lasting Quilts and Table Toppers for you to enjoy along with your favorite people.

🧵Your Legacy deserves to live on, and it will through your homemade quilted projects with love.

1st Through the Window - Panel Quilt Pattern - 51” x 54”

🧵🌟 Show me! 🌟🧵

Quilting your Legacy Starts Now:

First choose your panel, then choose 7 coordinating fabrics to highlight the panel. Next, choose a sashing color that would go down the middle of the coordinating fabrics. Finally, choose two different (top & bottom and side borders) but you could also choose to use the same fabric for all borders.

To make this Quilt you’ll need the following:

* 1-panel (24” x 43” approx.)

  • 7 Accent Fabrics in Fat Eights 9” x 21”
  • Top & Bottom Borders 5/8-yard cut
  • Side Borders 3/8-yard cut
  • Sashing (line down the center) 1/4-yard cut
  • Binding 1/2-yard

How to Cut:

  • You’ll first cut the accent fabrics into rectangles
  • Then, sashing strips
  • Next, sew those pieces together, then sew to sides to the panel. (*Important note, the panel might need a compensating piece added.)
  • Finally sew the borders.

Quilting your Legacy Notes:

Quick and easy! Grab that panel you haven’t used yet, along with 7 tonal or printed fabrics and boom you’ve got a great size quilt.

2nd Hypnotized - Panel Quilt Pattern - 63” x 63”

🧵🌟Show Me!🌟🧵

Quilting your Legacy Starts Now:

First choose your panel squares or any large print fabric you love. Then tonal sashing fabric with background fabric that will highlight the panel squares. Finally, choose two different borders fabric colors.

To make this Quilt you’ll need the following:

* 8 - 9” panel blocks (cut 9 1/2”) or 2/3-yard themed fabric

  • Sashing (or known on the pattern as framed fabric) 3/4-yard cut
  • Background fabric 1-yard
  • First Border 1/2-yard cut
  • Outer Border 1 1/2-yard cut
  • Binding 5/8-yard

How to Cut:

  • You’ll first trim the panel squares to 9 1/2”
  • Then, add the sashing frame strips
  • Next, cut the background fabrics
  • And finally at the first border and then the second border.

Quilting your Legacy Notes:

Brilliant couch quilt size! However, if it’s too small then simply add a third border or make it long by just added an extra border to the top and bottom of the quilt.

3rd Notches - Quilt Pattern - 60” x 70”

Quilting your Legacy Starts Now!

Here’s a fun and playful quilt only using Half-Square Triangles. (*cough cough* August’s Quilting your Legacy Monthly Challenge…)

To make this Quilt you’ll need the following:

  • 2 1/2-yards of the background fabric
  • 3/8-yard cut of 7-different fabrics

How to Cut:

The quilt is completely made from Half-Square Triangles. I got your back and you could easily watch the YouTube video I made on how to make 8-at-at-time Half-Square Triangles to ensure you speed up the process.

 Quilting your Legacy Notes:

Choose your favorite method of making Half-Square Triangles and take the background fabric and bright tonal fabric to create the Half-Square Triangles.

4th Egg Rolls - Quilt Pattern - 56” x 62”

🧵🌟Show me!🌟🧵

Quilting your Legacy Starts Now!

Choose any 12 Fat Quarters. This quilt is a great way to highlight your favorite fabrics! Or thinking of one of your favorite people, who could you make a quilt for using fabrics of their favorite colors, season, or even beautiful fabrics that remind you of them.

To make this Quilt you’ll need the following:

  • 12 Fat Quarters
  • 1/2-yard binding

How to Cut:

You’ll first, cut each of the Fat Quarters into two strips, and then, into rectangles.

Quilting your Legacy Notes:

All you need is 12 Fat Quarters in total, so maybe, 8 prints and 4 tonal fabrics to highlight the prints. You could use any combo you wish balancing out the quilt pattern.

5th Throwback - Quilt Pattern - 52 1/2” x 63”

Quilting your Legacy Starts Now!

I like the plaid they used in the quilt. This could be a really great quilt for a male. It’s very neutral.

To make this Quilt you’ll need the following:

  • 6 - 1/2-yard cuts for the background
  • 6 - Fat Quarters
  • 1/2-yard for binding

How to Cut:

* You’re going to cut all of the fabrics into strips, then pair the fabrics, and sew.

Quilting your Legacy Notes:

Again, this could be a really great quilt for a male or someone who enjoys earth tone colors.

Slice of Summer - Table Topper - 16” x 52”

🌟🧵Show me! 🧵🌟

Quilting your Legacy Starts Now!

Oh my! Seriously, I LOVE THIS TABLE TOPPER! It’s four watermelon blocks with a large center block.

To make this Quilt you’ll need the following:

1/2-yard of red

2/3-yard cut of green

1 - Fat Quarter for the center block

How to Cut:

* You’ll cut the red first, then add the green strips to create the watermelon. The watermelon will form quickly and you’ll need to create 4 of them. Plus, you’ll want a fun print for the center.

Quilting your Legacy Notes:

Looking at center block, what if you chose a tonal fabric and hand-embroidered a few watermelons or something of the sorts.

One Final Thought...

Out of the 6-different patterns which do you want to make first? Quilt or Table Topper?
