Cheryl was inspired by both ancient and contemporary mosaics on a trip to Israel. Developing a technique to replicate stone mosaics in fabric was a challenge that was intriguing, and doable. She began with ones that were replicas of mosaics that adorned the walls and ceilings of Or Torah in Acco, Israel, and have since grown to be more contemporary in topic and color.
Cheryl's Mini Mosaic Cutting Guide, while not necessarily required, will make it a breeze to cut the fabric into 3/8 inch squares. It is available here:
