Bright and Cheerful Color Projects! (Bonus Blue & Yellow Sunflowers blocks for Ukraine)
🙋♀️I don't know about you, but I typically don't sew with bright and colorful fabrics. However, with the state of the world right now, I believe the people around us, and we could use a little extra cheer in our lives. (More on this in a moment.)
🌻As a BONUS credit to Norton House Quilting, let's make Blue & Yellow Sunflowers blocks for Ukraine.
Our friends north of us in Vermont made a beautiful Sunflower paper-pieced block, and they're donating 100% of the profits tothe Ukrainian Jersey City - a nonprofit organization based in downtown Jersey City. 100% of the pattern donations will be made to UJC and will go toward military and medical supplies, along with humanitarian aid. You can learn more about UJC here : https://www.facebook.com/UkrainianJC/
HERE'S How to purchase the pattern: https://onestitchback.com/products/girasol-paper-piecing-pattern
Pattern and instructions to create finished 6" or 8" Girasol (Sunflower) blocks using foundation paper piecing method. Each pattern has 48 pieces.
📣(Side note, we should also purchase something from their shop to say thank you for taking leadership and challenging us to paper-piece a block.)
🙋♀️You don't have to purchase their block to participate in the Sunflower Block Ukraine Challenge. As long as it has blue and yellow in the quilt block, any Sunflower will automatically be entered into the drawing. Also, please post a photo of the block on your Facebook or Instagram feed using the hashtag #QuiltingyourLegacy . Again, this is a bonus drawing for $30.
I hope the bonus $30 drawing to Norton House Quilting will bring more awerness to Ukraine and it will insprire people to do what they can to help support.
Bright colors can give so much cheer to our lives and the lives of others.
Bright colors entail; hot pinks, bright blues, cherry reds, neon yellows, fire orange, and more eye starring but can't look away colors.
Ideas, perhaps make a new lively table topper or sunny cloth napkins for your household. Or couch quilt for one of your favorite people who needs a little extra cheer in their lives.
You choose the projects (minimum of one and maximum of 3 to be entered into the drawing). The challenge is to create projects with cheerful color fabrics. But, of course, bright colors and prints with flowers are accepted too.
